   我們在南加州定居了三十多年，近來比較可以走得開，去了亞洲幾趟，也回到椰林大道回憶一番，在台北到處看看。。。，不過還是感到越洋旅行在我們這個年齡不是太容易 ：）
   三個孩子在這兒長大，成家，給我們六個孫輩，帶來許多快樂和童心。我們非常感恩。

謝謝鼓勵！“1966空間站”你姍姍來遲了。站長卓明最近才好不容易的把你找到，他也是費了九牛二虎之力，通過台灣駐吉隆坡辦事處及媒體的管道把我撈起來，這也只不過是十天前的事了。
你在信中說：“I remember you wore glasses with a black frame. I hope I correctly match the right person with your name.”答對了！
換句話說，照片中的人已走樣，50個年頭了，由不得大家不得不費力去揣摩！因此，家書和菡嬰得采用遺傳學的法則 -- 從我兒子臉上檢定老同學。
不過，照片會誤導，或更好或更糟，面對面時真相才會大白！
我在你的電郵上看的edu 的代號，猜你可能投身于高等教育上。方便告訴我們嗎？

Thanks for your kind letter, you are probably right, I do enjoy sports all my life, either as spectator or participant,  still enjoy playing tennis ( 4.0 ranking ) full time, belong to the local tennis league, during the regular season we at least play 3 matches a week!!
As for the picture 1, I'm in the middle with Olive green top,  on picture 2, my husband, Tom & I are on the right side  ( bride's side )
Hope this helps! By the way, I totally don't recall your look, not even from your son, oh well, may be when we do meet in person we can slowly recognize each others then ;-!!)

I like your idea of getting together a meeting prior to Aug.1st, as I just realized that I have to be back in South Carolina for I need to travel up to North Carolina on the 13th & I had hard time getting the good ticket on Aug.12,  It seemed that many people are in S.Cal already, so if you can arrange something may be on the 4th of August in Irvine, that would really help me out a lot, for I really would hate to miss seeing many classmates after so many years!!, Let me know what you think of my suggestion, please write or call me asap!

Hello Pan,諸位同学
一連兩個多月接到了不少由卓明轉未66年外文系同学的濤息,又是照片又是訊息,更是羨慕那些巳聚過會的( 如在台北或南加卅, 還等你們分享照片呢?!) 因為我們身在國外 (三-四月 在台灣,香港 ,小女兒處,又中國旅遊,返美後又去瑞士探望大女兒一家)直到上星期才真正返回家門!這幾天非常高興連接有藍玄圃,蔡元評,Kenny Huang (可否請問中文名)及丁菡嬰,楊嘉書(我們一直有連絡)各函件加照片更党得好像空間時間的距离少了好多,一個個原很熟息的名字又不再有莫生之感了呢...
這一切都要謝謝潘明同學的苦心及無限的耐心好不容易把大家網上連繫上了!!更是很感謝在台北時得以他安排在台大碰面並在外文系杜鵑花前合影(我相機不靈幸好潘明拍了些才能得以留念)真是第一次由大學畢業後首次見到前班上同學,實在太可貴了, 以前每聽到親朋們提及參加同學會就很羨慕,感概就是我們外文糸從沒聚會(或更悲哀的沒人連絡)所以今年十一月初的同學會想盡力趕回,今年再度返台北参加.
對了經藍,蔡, Huang諸位同學的鼓勵催促想也應稍自介紹我的家人一下,並附兩張全家照分享;1. 先生過七十全家照,  2, 兒子去年十月在加卅Laguna Beach結婚合照.
1969在Oregon大學唸完後結婚就搬去Iowa city( 先生陶孟治也是台大農工系1962畢業)住了近一年,等他學位拿完後開始工作至退休我們也搬了好幾次家,首先在Pensyvenia,後去Washington, Wisconsin & finally retired & have been living in South Carolina since 1987. 有兩女一男, 2 grandchildren, one is on the way (  in September ) 南卡天氣雖比不上加卅,名勝古蹟不少, Charleston 即一個有意思的港城 !!,
好就這麼些了,盼不久可見面!!

台大外文系-你叫醒了我！-
親愛的老同學，

清晨2點，我常被床頭的平板電腦叫醒；不必猜，肯定是inbox 捎來了外文系的信息。熱火火的老同學多半在美國，我昏睡時你清醒；可不能說你，怪自己多事，把工具隋身帶，等消息。

許多好事和善行 一 一 的出現 ：智揚和台灣先賢蔣渭水、支援中國公益的健華社社長四臧、小冬和外交前輩袁鍵生、春輝不斷的給 “資深公民”提供很管用的古秘方等等。片言只字，果真引起漣漪處處。說實話，沒有卓明上窮落碧下黃泉的尋人、沒有菡嬰和嘉書的呼叫、沒有各位的胸襟，1966空間站必然一片空白！

半個世紀前，你和我，一頭的黑發，一臉分明的輪廓，也許從來就不曾說過一句話；傅鍾響起的一刻，揮揮手，頭也不回，我們各奔前程。

半個世紀後，你和我，銀發飄蕩，臉龐依稀，掩不住風霜雨露的痕迹；你不記得我，我也不記得你了。當我們再邂逅，不論在眼前、在空間，一縷看不見的線卻把記憶重重的再接上。也許，這就是文學學子特有的情懷！ 
四臧很細心的邀同學回流，除了欽佩，更要給她掌聲！

Thank u for ur info and I'm glad that you get in touch with them. Some I can remember but some I can't remember, probably I see them I would know them.  In the last six months, I sold my house  and then stayed in Shanghai for three weeks and then went to Taipei to rejoin the national medical care which probably is the cheapest and very handy. The cheapest meas pricewise not quality. Everybody can have very easily access to different doctors and hospitals or alternative care such as Chinese herbs. However, I found the housing in Taipei at the moment is extremely high but renting is not too bad.  We have rent a small studio on the 12th floor, airy and sunny. The location is ideal, close to everywhere, hospitals, cafe, market, food stalls, restaurants, park and library.

Next to Betty is older daughter-in-law Alisa. Standing next to Alisa is older son, Issac. And Josh, our younger son, standing by his brother.

Where will you be in Southern California? I’ll be attending American Library Association Annual Conference at Anaheim from June 22nd to June 25th. I plan to see Wu Yee Ching(吳怡青) during the Conference time. Maybe, we can plan to get together sometime during the Conference. Of course, I won’t feel hurt at all if the distance is too far. In the US, it seems that we all have to drive a distance to see someone.

   Welcome to L.A.! If speaking of available weekends, we are open on 5/26,27 and 6/3. If it's during the week, we are pretty much available the entire week of 5/28-6/1.
   I will be helping out my younger son with his two girls while my daughter-in-law visits her family in N.J. during 6/4-6/8.
   Let's work around those dates, whoever is available? For those who won't be in L.A. until later, 6/24 is good?

You are right.  Clara 丁菡婴 is available in the afternoon of 6/24.  I thought you will go to LA to stay with your friend/older generation before the date.
同學們:  If we go, we usually drive down.  Because of our grandchildren's summer camp schedule, we may need to come back on Monday, 6/25.  We haven't been able to discuss the detail with our daughter yet because she went on business trip to Israel and other two states this month and just came back.  When we are sure, I will let you know.

南加州外文系同學五月卅日團聚
        旅居香港己卄年之久的韋焯瑩同學偕同其夫婿蔣行先生，於廿七日回來南加州省親，恰巧潘明夫婦也來此探視子女，熱心念舊的楊嘉書、丁菡嬰夫婦乃以地主身分，邀約住在南加州的同學左四臧、張其真及張天保等人(惜未連络上吳怡青)，於今天(卅日)中午在Monterey Park「鹿鼎記」餐廳聚會。楊嘉書、丁菡嬰夫婦熱忱連絡邀約同學外，又負責洽訂餐館等事宜，左四臧則替張其真、張天保及潘明夫婦等人洽查前往往洛杉磯的車次及時間，並偕其夫婿Bob Liu親自去LA Union Station接送他們去Monterey Park。楊嘉書、丁菡嬰夫婦及Bob Liu、左四臧夫婦四人的熱忱，是南加州外文系同學這次團聚非常成功愉快的主要原因。謝謝他們的熱心。
 以下是丁菡嬰下午寫給蔡元評同學e-mail的片斷：
I waited untilnow to email you, because we just finished our first mini-reunion in Monterey Park. Gilbert andothers will soon upload our group pictures and some candid photos at lunch. itwas most fun seeing one another. The first sight was a bit "strange",but after that, you just feel nobody "changed", the personality/ theway of talking/ gestures/ etc. There was sharing of many precious and naughtymemories of our younger years. Also, we talked about some of the moresignificant decisions/happenings/turning points etc. 3.5 hours flew by soquickly in talking and laughing. We departed with best wishes for oneanother...., yeah, for those of us in S. Calif.,we look forward to seeing several others from out of state in June.
    This is going to be a very "rich" summer for us....

各位親愛的同學：光陰易逝，我們入學相識至今，已五十個年頭了，畢業惜別後，也近四十六年了。這四、五十年來事業與家庭都和順吧！目前在家含貽弄孫？抑或繼續打拼奮鬥呢？

我喜歡你直筒筒，沒遮欄，讓人痛快得很！你的特優條件絕不可放棄，我因此得了便宜，以下爲證：-
你宣布要核對身份後，我急告老妻：“外文系女同學要咱照片！”。一陣冷水後她眯著眼 – 老頭已風燭殘年 – 罷了。于是電召兒孫來家中晚宴，其實是爲老夫助陣。我因無生産力，在家排名落後，依次是：老媽，孫，兒，女，媳，婿，老爸（車夫），菲傭。6月10 日那天，老爸居然飚升首席，很有面子！
附上2組照片讓你解惑，看看在網上進進出出的是不是你想象中50年前的那頭“動物”？！
第1組外文系1966年，內面有你，嘉書，顯意，武吉，玄圃 ……。
第2組在我家。你會發現，照片中人和你上回看到的老了一截，不能再抹粉了！再過些日子，恐怕就不堪入目矣。
秀枝說她認的我，請再看一次，是不是另有其人？菡嬰和嘉書聯手，用我兒子的基因定位，很準的。
這封信許多同學會看的，當它是老人嬉戲，千萬別介意！

Thank you for posting the old and new picture, so we can go back to the young and carefree days again. Can you and 潘明 recognize all the people? Maybe we can brainstorm on 6/24 at 四臧's house and "recognize" everyone.
菡嬰：Is it possible that you make copies of your old picture "全班合照＂for those who will go to the 6/24 reunion? I went to Kinko and made photo copies for my high school classmates before and had it enlarged. We will pay you for the expense. Thank you for the trouble.
If I can find any old picture after going back to Michigan at the end of September, I will post them too.

Thank you very much for sharing the precious pictures of you with old classmates at then and also, your happy family pictures now..... I couldn't help to look at the pictures again and again....Feeling very blessed - lot of us were able to get re-connected again after more than 4 decades.... Gilbert, really no words can express enough how much you're appreciated.
Can't wait to catch all the memorable moments at the reunion on June 24. I think quite a few of us will be glad to share our pictures with you, too.

WOW! WOW! WOW!
I'm ashamed to say that I don't remember when this picture was taken, however, I can see myself in it so I must have been there, ha ha---
This is probably the most complete of the class photo, would be wonderful if we can use the original one & make copy for everyone, I would be the first one to sign up & pay for the expense, thank you Yen-ping for giving us the opportunity to go back to the campus & imagine us being young once!!
Plus, if the name for each one can be post on that would help too,
What a wonderful memory lane we travel on, I don't supposed we can ALL gather together & each one stands/sits on the same spot & have another picture taken???
