Sandwich and Soup
How about a cold sandwich and a bowl of soup?
You don’t want to clean the kitchen so often after you mess it up every day. And you might get tired of cooking heavily every day. So, here’s the light meal.
Sandwich
Ingredients:
- I remember I used to buy Oraweat Oatnut 3 three seed packaged bread. It was so delicious. Get a loaf.
- Get a jar of honey mustard or any mustard/dressing you want.
- Cheese of your choice, sliced. I used to buy muenster cheese. The cheese has orange/brown edges/sides. I like that cheese so much. It's very good to go with sandwiches.
- Get a head of fresh lettuce. You can buy one head and keep the rest of it for salad plate for other meals. It’s so much cheaper and fresher to prepare the salad yourself than to buy the salad packages from the supermarket.
- Get a tomato for more veggie on the sandwich.
- Get some ham. Any ham or roast beef packages are easy to find.
Cooking:
- Well, no cooking actually needed. You wash 3 or 4 leaves of lettuce, drain it well,
- Put a slice of bread on the plate, spread mustard on, put in the meat, the cheese and the veggie. Cover it with another slice of bread. Done. Add one more slice of bread in between your meat and veggie if you have bigger appetite. I would use foil as the wrapper of the sandwich so it's easy to hold the giant sandwich you made without getting the bread bits falling everywhere when you attack it.
Soup
Ingredients:
- Buy any cans of soup you like. I would choose cream of mushroom here.
- Get some fresh or canned mushrooms. Supermarket usually sells small cans of mushrooms. If fresh, slice it. You need only 10 mushrooms, less if the mushroom's size is big.
- Follow the instructions on the can for the cooking. They usually sells cans of ready to eat. You only need to heat it and eat. Another kind of cans is cans that you need to add water or milk to cook. When choosing of water or milk, I would like milk to add more flavor to it. If it’s too much hassle for you, just add water according to the instructions. Usually milk will make it more creamy, thicker. I usually add a lillte bit more milk or water than what’s said on instruction, because when the ingredient was canned, it usually is a little bit salty. More liquid will dilute the saltiness.
- When heating, tir the pot from time to time to prevent it from burnt at the bottom. Use medium heat will prevent it as well. But it will extend the cooking time.
- When the soup starts sizzling, it’s done.
