Dear Classmates: Thanks to 麗瑞's coordination. We had a great time meeting in Taipei. I am sure 麗瑞 will have a complete coverage later. I just can't wait to share the photos with you. It took 10 of us (plus two husbands) more than two ours to introduce each other. It covers work family, cooking, lawsuits, teaching.... The place, rose garden, was a wonderful choice. They had to ask to leave before 6:30 pm. since we've been there too long. We were also not allowed to take the photos, but we beg them to take it without the flash. I am using the digital and 麗瑞has a wonderful 恮 camera.. We all got a box of cookies prepared by麗瑞’s students. It's more than worth of the trip although it took me 10 hours traveling back and forth. It's also my first time taking Taipei MRT. I feel proud of the country after the ride in the clean, fast MRT and the green rice paddie, beautiful mountain scenery while looking out of the window from the big comfortable bus. Well, as I get older, I am not as shy but more willing to express my thankfulness openly. 彩嫻 ============================================================ Dear all, I am very grateful to 廖傾移 for bringing me into our class reunion activities in the beginning. Since 傾移 spoke of her loneliness as “the only cheer leader” in the entire processes, I think we should try to be more responsive and initiate some more correspondence among all classmates. So, here I will just add some of my own observations and thoughts to李彩嫻’s succinct description of our Taipei reunion. In addition to those participants shown in彩嫻’s photo album, I also met孫秀琴 at the same restaurant before other classmates showed up. It was a pity that秀琴 could not make it for the bigger reunion later. But we had asked the waitress to take a picture of us. As you can see that she looks just like she was in high school, happy and liberal. She has a very generous husband who is a university professor and a considerate son who is a college sophomore and they play badminton ball every Sunday. What a healthy family! Later, nine other classmates showed. We recognized each other but had problems to get the name right at the first sight, except for簡篇. Everyone recognized her immediately. We exchanged our 30 years’ life experiences in 4 hours! Everyone was really excited and felt so rewarded to come. The tea house’s regulation forbids customers to take pictures in the dining area with flesh lights. As a result, I could not take pictures of our dear classmates as I previously planned because the automatic flesh light function of my camera could not be turned off. But Li Ray took many pictures and 彩嫻 and 簡篇 are going to create a website bulletin board for our class. I think we will be able to see all the pictures very soon. I am particularly grateful to 陳麗瑞 for her “home-made” cookies and to 江瑚珠’s husband for paying our bills when we were focusing our attention to those fascinating stories. I also noticed a very interesting fact that almost all the husbands of the attendants are teachers (in colleges or high schools) or had been in that profession before. I am sure you who are in the States will also have an exciting reunion in L.A.. I am looking forward to hearing form you, too. Cheers, Mei-Ling(徐美玲)
